Description
This Tradewinds Midview door features a durable frame for busy families. The Screen Away retractable screen offers instant ventilation and converts storm door to screen door, hiding the screen in a cassette at the top of the door. The closer features a hold-open button that holds the storm door open with a tap of your toe. The Quick Fit handle set allows you to customize your handle by choosing its style and finish (sold separately). The balanced window system and ergonomically designed handle glides the screen up and down for unlimited ventilation control. Overlapping edge offers the tightest seal for increased energy efficiency. Dual heavy-duty weather-stripping seals out harsh weather conditions. Keyed deadbolt lock with modern interior and exterior lever designs offers enhanced protection and elegance. This door's heavy-duty 1 7/8 in thick frame construction stands up to heavy traffic. Right or left hinge mounting, limited lifetime warranty.

Can the glass in the mid view be replaced with screen to basically have no glass?
Dear Joe, Thank you for reaching out. The glass cannot be replaced with a screen. This door is designed with the screen roller at the top connecting to the top operating glass. When operating the top glass down the screen rolls down providing top half ventilation. The bottom glass is stationary. I just had the 146-MV door installed. My understanding is this is heavy duty aluminum and has the limited lifetime warranty. Is that accurate? I cannot find any reference in any of my literature that indicates it is heavy duty aluminum. Thank you.
The 146MV is under the Heavy-Duty Aluminum Limited Lifetime Warranty. Attached is warranty information for your reference.

Does Larson offer an inswing storm door, preferably with retractable screen.
There is an optional inswing kit that you can purchase in addition to the storm door to allow the inswing operation; however, not all of our storm doors can be modified with the inswing kit. If you are wanting inswing and a Screen Away retractable screen, I recommend the 830-80 series.

I have an almond Larson Savannah storm door on a door we don't use. A heavy wind tore it off the house due to the dead bolt being left unlocked. Is it possible to order a door without the handle, since I already have one.
Most of our storm doors include a handle with the purchase of the storm door. If you are looking at purchasing the 146MV storm door that has the handle sold separately, please know that the Savannah handle is not compatible with the 146MV model.

I have the 146MV storm door, can a small pet door be installed in the kick panel, and what is the thickness of kick panel?
The kick panel is 1-1/2" thick and is 18" from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the glass; however, we do not recommend installed a pet door as it will void the manufacturer's warranty.

Can I get a retractable screen storm door 32 X 96?
The 146MV is not available in a 32" x 96" option; however, you could special order the 146FV storm door in the mentioned size. Please visit your local Larson dealer for additional information.

Hello, please help- our door opening is not a standard size- a rough measurement is 36W 84H . I do not see any options for this size storm door. can you offer some suggestions. thank you !
While the 36" x 84" is not a standard size, many of our storm doors can be ordered at specific dimensions. Please visit your local Larson dealer, and they will be able to provide you the door models available to order in your size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mark from Beautiful & Solid Door Excellent door. Installation was relatively easy with one exception. The instructions for the door closers are not clear at all. Had to adjust a few times to make them level. The door closer on the bottom does not work properly - tapped with foot and it locked the door open as it is supposed to. Trying to get it to release is another story. Love the retractable screen. The jig they supply for drilling the holes is awesome and takes the anxiety out of drilling a hole in your new door. The provided paddle bit to drill the holes is a nice little extra.

The door has 2 closer sprockets, one at the bottom and one at the top of the door which makes for a very smooth closure. We purchased the tradewinds aluminum door replacing an 13 year older Larson storm door that was corroding and expanding from the inside out at the bottom of the door. I installed the door at the back of our house with very little difficulty. I was impressed with the design for easy installation. The instructions and the pictures to assist the installation were well done. The hardware was well marked in separate bagS for easy identification.

Purchased the door handle sets seperate, other than them being scratched on the handle portion they are great quality. Removed 3 old doors and installed 3 new ones before lunchtime!

The instructions were not clear and there were no videos to help. I had to go back to Lowe's to confirm that I was installing them correctly.

Well constructed, easy instructions to follow. very well thought out and the highlight (for me) was seeing MADE IN AMERICA printed on the box the door came in... I have to Thank Lowes for selling American made products....
