Replacement Jeep Scope (MP)

The Landrover Nationalist (MK74) is a front-locomotive engine five-doorway compact crossover SUV factory-made and marketed aside Jeep, having debuted with the Jeep Comprehend in April 2006 at the New York City Auto Show for the 2007 model class.[1] Both cars, atomic number 3 well as Dodge Caliber shared the GS platform, differentiated by their styling and marketing, with the Patriot exclusively offering a 4WD system, marketed as Freedom Drive Two.

The Nationalist was factory-made at Chrysler's Belvidere, Illinois meeting place plant aboard the Compass.[2] Although the model was allay selling well true as information technology was essentially unchanged as it entered its 11th model class, yield ended with the 2017 fashion mode year.[3]

Design [edit]

Pre-facelift Jeep Patriot Minor (Europe)

In the U.S. the Nationalist uses either the 2.0 L operating room 2.4 L Human race gasoline I4 engine. Both front-wheel drive and machine drive are uncommitted. The Patriot features two four-wheel drive systems both of which are electronically controlled. The standard machine drive system is called Freedom Movement I. This system is a full-time figurehead-roll-drive based 4WD/AWD system that is face-wheel-drive when it has traction, but fire automatically put adequate to 50% force to the rear wheels, the ECC (Electronically controlled clutch located on the nurture derived function)can be fastened in 50–50 below a sure speed. This "locking" International Relations and Security Network't a true lock up and just requests the ECC constitute locked more than in the regular AWD style. The ECC clutch is pulsed during turns to avoid the arrangement from binding the drivetrain. The separate scheme, known as Exemption Drive Deuce, is supported Freedom Drive I, but by using the vehicle's CVT transmission information technology is capable of a 19:1 cogwheel reduction simulating a low-growing range usually institute in vehicles with consecrate transfer cases. This 19:1 "crawl" ratio is achieved with a more than lower (numerically higher) derriere differential gear compared to non Freedom Drive Deuce vehicles. The 2.4 L GEMA I4 is an option for the 4X2 model Patriot.

For Europe and Australia, a 2.0 L (1968 cc; 120 cid; 140ps) Volkswagen-manufactured diesel motor engine is fitted along with a 6-speed blue-collar gearbox. Altogether EU cars are fitted as standard with four wheel drive and a version of the Freedom Drive System that tuned differently from the U.S. versions, but with similar capability to FDII with brake traction control and three switchable electronic stability control condition and grip control settings for on or bump off-road use.

The Nationalist won the 2007 Green 4x4 Award and the 2008 4x4 of the Yr in the UK.[ citation needed ]

The Patriot uses a continuously variable transmission helmeted with a four wheel drive system, marketed as Freedom Drive II, capable of holding the lowest ratio the CVT can reach, in stead of a time-honored two-speed transfer case. The Patriot carries Landrover's "Trail Rated" badging.
